An Introduction to Immuno-Safety Science

Immunosafety is a dynamic and interdisciplinary field that  incorporates the evaluation of how new drugs, therapies, vaccines, food additives, cosmetics, and a variety of chemicals affect the immune system and to determine the relative “safety" of these entities in people, animals, and within the environment.

The primary objective of this training course is to promote  a greater understanding and use of immunosafety information in both the scientific community and society at large. The Introduction module is comprised of a collection of lightening talks (10-20mins) designed to introduce you to key concepts and tools that are essential to mastering foundational knowledge within this discipline. Altogether this course will provide a comprehensive overview to the field in "bite size" digestible pieces suitable for professionals who need refresher or quick snap shot of the immuno-safety landscape to ground them  human risk and safety assessment as it pertains to agents that may modify the immune system.

The introduction module is the first of 6 modules with multiple short presentations that range from 15-45 minutes long given by subject matter experts. Other courses will be rolled out in a continuous fashion in the month to follow.  So keep you eyes on this space.

Participants will have the flexibility to select topics based on interest and or need and can work towards obtaining a certificate of completion.

This course is intended to serve as resource for those who are interested in learning about immunosafety and/or looking for professional development opportunities in the form of continuing education and networking.

Target Audience

This course intended for  the science professional or graduate student  looking  learn he fundamental science  and key consideration that are examined  in immune safety assessment. Advance topics and coursed that take a deeper dive into specific scientific areas will be offer and is recommend for the more experienced scientist who has a firm grasp on the information highlighted in the introduction module.
